HCG Fad Diet

Every overweight individual wants to lose weight in the shortest and quickest time possible. This is, of course, because no one wants to be fat. Being fat can give you a lot of insecurities and makes you very inactive to a lot of physical activities. But, do you know that there is a diet that helps you lose a pound every day? That diet is called HCG Diet.


In the past, a lot of people have ended up being frustrated because their efforts to trim down were in vain. The reason is, earlier weight loss programs were too restrictive to what you can eat, making some people very hungry, weak, and lacking in energy. In fact, this has made a lot of us to think that going on a diet is like going into starvation; which is definitely not true. Losing weight is not about how much food we are able to carve away from our meals.

The HCG Diet was discovered by Dr. ATW Simeons in the 1950’s. A single dose of HCG was administered to help reduce the appetite of a group of overweight men and women. This experiment showed that the subjects significantly lost weight; with effects observed mostly around the hips, thighs, buttocks and stomach. Today, there are even safer way to administer the HCG by drops and pills.

Inspite of the great results, we must first understand that the HCG diet is not easy to follow. But there are a lot of things you can do to help you while taking the diet; making it somewhat easier.

You can try having a relative or a friend to join on your HCG diet. Having someone who is very close and personal to you to support you to be strong and stick with it to the end. It is also another form of a healthy competition that keeps you sharp and motivated. You must remember that you must start your HCG diet with the intention of sticking with it for the long term. By doing so, you will also have the mindset of a person that wants to win.

You should also pre-measure what you are eating. Use a food scale to measure your foods. Meats should be measured raw. While doing so, prepare your HCG diets based on meals beforehand and arrange them in ready-to-eat portions. Add a little creativity to your recipes to help break monotony. Search on google.com for HCG diet recipes that you can try.

If you are tired of eating the same meat that is in your diet plan, you can try to cook quinoa or brown rice protein as an alternative. If you are low on cash and if you’re planning to make some food substitutes do not make any substitutions with foods that are not allowed in your diet. This will obviously, ruin your diet.


The diet allows you a variety of drinks. One of these is tea. Teas cleanse out the body and create a great increase of the metabolism of your body. You can sweeten your tea with stevia or saccharin. Water, of course, is still needed in your diet. Drink a lot of water everyday and keep a bottle of water with you everywhere you go.

It is also advised that you take supplements such as B-complex vitamins, calcium, and potassium. This is to prevent headaches and other side effects. This will help you feel better overall. In case of constipation, try drinking Smooth Move tea (half portion), laxatives, and drink more water. Incase of slight hair loss, take the Biotin. And just as a note, the cause of that hair loss is not HCG, but the low calorie diet.
Track and weigh yourself every morning after using the bathroom. Also, take pictures of your body often throughout the diet. This is to help you to literally see your progress.

There has been a lot of confusion about the role of exercise on this program. In fact, in most places, people tell you not to do any exercises at all while you are on the HCG Diet. The truth is that you should do some exercise daily while on the HCG. However you should not overdo it. This is considered as one of the biggest benefits of the HCG Diet; it works without rigor or even litttle exercise.

The key in doing this right is moderation and common sense. Because of how the HCG works inside your body, you must always remember that you are limited interms of calories and that the calories you take are simply not enough to support an intense workout. If you try to over exercise during the diet, you will be forcing your body into starvation mode despite the benefits of the HCG.

Dieters who really insist on adding a workout while on the HCG diet could greatly decrease their weight loss. Even though limited amounts of exercise are okay. Examples here include; 20 minutes of walking or other light cardio workouts, taking the stairs instead of the elevator or a brisk walk around the neighborhood.

If you absolutely must insist on still hitting the gym, you must always be sure and that you are eating an additional serving of protein, around 100 additional grams, as a separate meal in addition to your regular daily allotment as allowed on the HCG Diet. This additional protein will not slow down your weight loss or interrupt the Ketosis process but, instead, it will give you the additional calories and protein that is needed for your workout.
