Lower abs workouts will rarely get you the ripped six pack abs you are looking for. This is actually no different from using cardio for weight loss. But on this page we will show you just a small tweak you can do to your abs workouts that will get you results – fast!

That fat loss exercises targeting your lower abdomen do not work for six pack abs might not be what many want to hear. But it is true more often that not. Please note, we are not saying that lower abs workouts are bad or you should not do them at all.

What we are saying is that, if you are doing these exercise with the intention of finally getting those last two of your six pack, you could be headed for failure.

We are all familiar with majority of ab exercises that target the lower abdomen.

They include the leg raise, reverse crunches, captains chair among others. 

They are strength exercises mostly involving the movement of your legs by contracting your lower abdominal muscle.

These exercise are driven mostly by the fact that the last of the 6 pack abs are the most difficult to get for most of us.

You take up a workout routine, it works so well achieving your first 2 or even 4 of you 6 pack. 

But those last mould of abs right about your pelvic are simply a lump of flesh you can grab with your hand. 

This makes us think that we did not work out the lower abs hard enough.

So solution...

Unfortunately this deduction is not only erroneous; it will often lead to a wild goose chase. 

You will move from one lower ab workout to another and never seem to sculpt that final 2 pack.

There is a reason that six pack abs epitomise fitness. And that is because; to show your abs you will need to have minimum body fat or what is called low body fat percentage.

And though your body tend to deposit fat in varying places on your body, depending on your gene’s; belly fat is primarily one of the first areas you will deposit body fat.

Here is why that is a problem...

…losing belly fat is like emptying a swimming pool. The first part to get wet when filling up the swimming pool will also be the last end to get dry.

So when filling up the pool, the deep end will start getting water before the shallow end. Inversely when emptying the pool, the deep end will be the last to get dry.

For most men, and some women belly fat is the deep end of body fat stores on your body. For many women and some men it is the thigh and buttocks.

If your deep end is the belly, then it goes without saying that the last place you will lose body fat will be your belly.

In fact that last lump of flesh that you can grab where you want your lower abs is actually body fat. More specifically, it is subcutaneous fat. That is, fat that is above your ab muscles and below your skin

But it gets worse…

Subcutaneous body fat is more the difficult fat to get rid of. This is because unlike visceral stomach fat, it is not easily available to your body for energy.

This means if your diet is not 100% an abs diet you could be using your food to fuel your body workout instead of the body fat. And this means those lower abs will stay forever covered in body fat. Of course unless you change strategy.

So how do you change strategy?

You need to perform work out that demand more energy from the body. You need to rev up your metabolism so that your body is compelled to use the fat on your lower abdomen.

Unfortunately lower abs workouts won’t cut it. They are not demanding enough to your body. Infact the exercise that will work better for this kind of situation will rarely target your abs directly
