Quick Weight Loss Diets

How to make quick weight loss diets work

Quick weight loss diets is the in thing. Americans spend about thirty billion dollars every year looking for the easy route to fast weight loss. The industry is premised on a distinctly American trait. We love speed. Give us fast cars, fast food and fast diets, and we will spend a fortune on the speedy fix.

The fact is that two thirds of the population is either obese or overweight and a significant portion will decide to commence a diet program in the New Year. Most will resort to a quick weight loss diets in order to shed those unwanted pounds in as little time as possible.

The unfortunate problem is that these programs seldom, if ever, work on a long-term basis.

While pounds will be shed on a short-term basis, those pounds and, probably more will be added when it proves to be unsustainable over the long-term.

Commonly referred to as the "yo-yo" effect, health care professionals have determined that this approach is dangerous to the health of the dieter.

Few programs like   "Go Beyond Calories" (And Lose Belly Fat Permanetly)  are well designed to achieve quick results permanetly.

Most are just fads that eventually lead to regain.

Anyone looking to shed those extra pounds and keep them off should look for traits that characterize fad or quick weigh loss diets:

  • Recommending or stressing one type of food over others. This leads to an unbalanced diet and, over time, the loss of nutritional benefits the body needs to sustain itself.

  • Eating the same foods over and over again becomes boring and, therefore, unsustainable over the long term. The tendency is to quit the program and go back to old eating habits.

  • "Lose weight without exercising" is a common claim of fad diets. Exercise is essential to the healthy human body. Any program that recommends otherwise should be avoided.

  • Food combinations that suggest "fat-burning" prowess have not been documented as efficacious.

  • Gimmicky pill programs that suggest that taking the pill will "burn" fat or flush the system are generally worthless and a waste of money.

To adjust these quick weight loss diets so that they can lose you weight for good, a health care professionals will generally recommend a three-pronged approach to a weight-loss program. These include diet, exercise and the brain.

The Diet:

The weight loss diet is important. The simple fact is that thirty five hundred calories is equal to one pound. The Mayo Clinic has determined that calorie intake less than fourteen hundred for men and twelve hundred for women is unhealthy and can lead to unsatisfactory results.

A man eating twenty six hundred calories per day could lose two-three pounds per week by limiting himself to the fourteen hundred calorie per diem rate. Adding an exercise program to his daily routine will accelerate the weight-loss progress.

Experts like the American Heart Association recommend a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, whole grains and non-fat or low-fat dairy products. Use whole fruits instead of fruit juice in your diet. Whole fruit contains much less sugar and more fiber.

Healthy carbohydrate foods include, again, whole grains, brown rice, whole-wheat pasta, and beans. Avoid easily digested carbohydrate foods. These include pastries, white bread, and white rice. No one wants to give up their favorite foods. It tends to discourage them and provides an excuse for exiting the weight-loss program. So instaed of completly avoiding them, consume them sparingly. This is a core strategy of   "Go Beyond Calories" (And Lose Belly Fat Permanetly)  .

Limit the intake of red meats and substitute fish on a regular basis. It is high in nutrients and provides far fewer calories in a well-balanced diet.

The Exercises:

Similarly weight loss exercises can be pivotal in weight loss. A good exercise program is truly a highly subjective matter. Exercise that is not enjoyed by the participant results in another excuse to exit the program.

A good combination of exercises should include body toning as well as providing a vigorous cardio-vascular workout. It can be as simple as a brisk walk with the dog. It provides an excellent cardio-vascular exercise to the walker and the dog won't mind. Some people love to jog. If so, that is the choice you implement.

Swimming is a best exercise. If that is appealing, join a gym with an indoor pool. Perhaps the treadmill or elliptical trainer looks attractive. A good idea is to take a set of headphones along. It is quite amazing how fast forty-five minutes can go by if you are engrossed in a television program.

Some people prefer a solitary workout; others enjoy working out with a friend. The latter provides motivation to both parties and keeps them engaged in the program. Group programs can provide a great workout as well as entertainment. Group programs include spinning, yoga, and aerobic classes. Most gyms offer the services of personal trainers who, again, provide the inspiration and motivation to keep going.

Take time to relax after your workout. It serves as a reward for the effort you expended. Most gyms have a wet area. Enjoy the steam room, sauna, and Jacuzzi. A few minutes in this area will prepare the mind for whatever activities follow. However, as you will note with   "Go Beyond Calories" (And Lose Belly Fat Permanetly)  , exercises are not a must to achieve rapid results.

The Brain:

The correct frame of mind is essential to achieve success in a weight-loss program. The inception of a successful endeavor will require a change in lifestyle. This is not a situation where one is active for a few weeks or months and then returns to the old ways.

Weight loss and, then weight maintenance require a long hard look at the goals to be achieved and then a mental commitment to achieving the goals. As Napoleon Hill phrased it "Anything the mind can conceive and believe, the mind can achieve".

Diversions and distractions abound. Setbacks can occur. A simple cold can postpone the exercise portion of the program. However, a mental commitment will keep the participant focused and back on the program once the diversion has been dispensed with.

Surround yourself with people who share your new lifestyle and goals. The satisfaction of achieving the goal will far outweigh the distractions encountered along the journey. Equally important, pick a diet that works.

But if you are looking to lose belly fat. If you want a flat stomach or even a six pack, you will need to Go Beyond Calories. You will need to go beyond your usual weight loss strategies. To do this you need two things, just two things. These two are...
