Steroids & Belly Fat - Bodybuilding Gone Really Wrong

by Alexey
(Ukraine)

This is my story of how steroids have given me belly fat. I am 29 now, 192cm tall and when I weighed myself yesterday the scale said 646 lbs. I live in Ukraine and here weight is measured in kilos, so that's 323 kilos.

I was a bodybuilding enthusiast since 14 years and since that very time started doing steroids, different kinds of them. My older gym mates helped me get them. My family is somewhat well-off by the merits of my country at least, so food wasn't a problem either.

At 22 years I weighed about 140 kilos, but that was mostly muscle, and my height counts too. I also developed "ravenous" eating habits: I ate as much as 4 average men normally do. But at that time something changed - I don't really know what, maybe all those roids during adolescence did something, but it seems like it's something like metabolic syndrome.

I started gaining fat very fast, mostly at my torso. Simply put, my belly started to grow rapidly. I still pumped iron, and didn't get off the cycle, I thought it was something temporary. But it wasn't. In a year I gained about 30 kilos, almost all on my stomach, which got quite large.

Nothing worked to stop it, even when I gave up steroids, and intensified exercises. After another year I had to give up all but raw strength-based exercises, but my appetite didn't go away, and I was stupid enough to sustain that lifestyle.

My strength allowed me to carry my weight fairly easily, but it really soared.

When I got married at 26 my weight was about 250 kilos. My wife didn't mind my weigh, she also was a good cook, so...

Well up to this moment I have really ballooned out. My belly is "firm" and round but it still hangs under it's own weight, and my waist is so wide I have trouble walking through doors. I don't exercise anymore, for about 3 years now - i't just imposible with my size.

I even had to brush up my programming skills to be able to work from home as a web-designer. My weight seems to have stabilized, but with this lifestyle I am definitely gaining more. I don't think there's a turning back for me, I can't give up overeating and have very hard time walking.

I'm so large that I occupy a double bed entirely.

Maybe it's because i'm still quite young, but I don't have much headaches and stuff. But i can't sleep on my back, the stomach pushes on me so hard, that its hard to breathe. It gets hard during hot weather, I have to stay at home and wear nothing but shorts and drink lots of cold water, or the heat gets unbearable.

Walking is a problem because not only of all the weight, but mostly from size, I'm too large and unbalanced with my giant stomach, that i have to carry around. I can dress myself and go to bathroom properly, but washing is a problem, we even had to get a much larger bathtub an my wife has to help me washing, otherwise it's too difficult.

Another problem is clothes I have to have them custom-made. I also can't use cars and public transport properly, besides trams. And a bit scary thing is - i am still gaining.

I don't really know what it's coming to, but I still have a lot of strength and immobility doesn't seem to sneak up on me. But even getting up from sofa is getting harder and harder, you get the idea...

Editors Note:
Hi Alexey, This is sounding pretty serious. Can i suggest something...get a fat burning program that will combine an efective fat burning diet and an exercise regime that switches effectively between cardio and strength training. Google "Truth About Abs" or "Burn the Fat,Feed the Muscle".

See a doctor.
by: Anonymous

Maybe you should get checked out by a doctor, there are many syndromes, diseases, and disorders that can cause or contribute to massive weight gain. I know that people with Cushing's syndrome may experience excessive weight gain.

Alexey is super morbidly obese
by: Daniel Wills

Alexey from Ukraine is a super morbidly obese pig. I'm 16, 169cm tall and weigh 68.7kg, putting my bmi at 24.1 (aka: healthy weight). Alexey is 29, 192cm tall and weighs 323kg, putting his bmi at 87.6 (aka: super morbidly obese). My advice: Alexey should go on a VLCD. His weight goal should be about 90kg, which would put his bmi at 24.4. That way, he would no longer be a fat, disgustingly repulsive, fucking pig. Another alternative for Alexey would be to fucking kill himself. XD!
