The Fight Of My Life

My name is Sabrina Singletary and I am 34 years old. I am the youngest out of 5 siblings. I can recall my weight problem beginning in 5th grade.
The local health department came out to our school took our weight and measurement. They sent me home with a letter stated that I was 10 pounds over. I can remember delivering this letter to my mother and being the charismatic child that I was I begun to laugh. Well my mom did not find it funny at all.
Years later my love for sweets, emotional eating, and stress has landed me at a whopping 329 pounds. This is how i found out.
In June 2008 my Aunt died and I had to fly to her funeral. When I got on the plane I could fit in the seat however I was unable to fasten the seat belt. This was the most embarrassing moment of my life and at that moment I realized that I had to do something about my weight.
Months passed by and I continued to eat because of the death of my aunt, unemployment, and just plain not being happy with myself. But God works in mysterious ways. I was put in a position where I had to get a physical for my new job.
For the first time in 2 years I was on a scale and what I saw left me heartbroken. I weighed in at 329 pounds and 52 inches in my waist. The nurse wrote obese on my chart and scheduled me an appointment to see the nutritionist.
During the meeting with the nutritionist I broke down and cried because I finally realized that I was slowly eating myself to death. I am a fighter by nature and refused to succumb to defeat. So I have begun to exercise and eat right.
I am taking it one day at a time and I know that I will reach my ultimate goal of being healthy weight. This just the tip of iceberg about my obese story but I hope that I have helped someone make the decision to choose life over obesity. God bless!!

Editors Note:
Sabrina, congratulation for taking the first step in getting healthy - admitting there is a problem. Looking forward to before and after pictures in a few months. Many get this rude awakening, unfortunately they start tampering with fad diets. Try a healthy weight program and stick to it. You can look at GHF, i have reviewed it here...
