Weight loss diet is the leading reason as to why one fails in losing weight. The simple lack of understanding of what a weight loss diet should ultimately target results to perpetual dieting. 

And a plethora of diets from Low Carb Diets all the way to Glycemic Index Diets does not make choosing a diet easy.

    Indeed, the problem of persistent obesity today inspite of a huge weight loss campaign is sustained by among other things, not understanding what different diets achieve and the causes of weight regain thereof. 

    After following a particular weight loss plan, you realize that you are losing all the progress you had made earlier. This happens simply because you switched for the "weight loss diet' to a "normal diet". It is this difference of diets that results to the weight regain that perpetuates obesity. 

    You need to understand what weight loss diet is all about. 

    The essence of a weight loss diet is introduction of a calorie deficit to your daily calorie intake. This is the point many good diets go wrong. They involve you in some elaborate process and you shed 28 pounds. You are back to your pretty self. 

    Unfortunately you cannot now go on with the weight loss diet. Often you can't keep up with it and even if you could you would probably become deathly sick. On the other hand if you go back to your old eating habits you will gain every bit of body fat you just lost.

As much as a vegetables only diet introduces a huge calorie deficit, they do not provide all the nutrients that you need.

      2. The weight loss diet should inherently teach you with time a sustainable healthy diet for your ideal weight. This means the diet should have a transition to the kind of diet you should be using after achieving your ideal weight. Permanent weight loss requires some permanent changes in your eating habits. This transition from a weight loss diet to a healthy diet is key to losing weight for good.
